An international major operator is actively seeking a Lead FPU Installation Engineer to work on one of the largest offshore projects in the world.

The Engineer is a member of the project facilities team with subsea installation contract (SIC) management responsibilities.

The SIC scope includes the EPCIC of pipelines to the shore; SURF facilities at each FPU and transportation and installation of the project's FPUs.

The Lead FPU Installation Engineer position is responsible for overseeing detailed design contract management support procurement, construction, QA and T&I of FPUs.

The incumbent is expected to be a safety leader for the work scope.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the project team and SIC contractor to champion an incident free culture. Ensure full compliance with project HSE requirements during execution. Ensure all regulatory requirements are identified and addressed.
  • Manage updates to FEED documents including design/procurement specifications, as well as fabrication, testing, installation and operation specifications for the FPU mooring systems. Identify opportunities to improve the design for enhanced risk mitigation, cost/delivery optimization and life-of-field reliability and performance.
  • Review constructability input to detailed design documents related to the transportation and installation of the mooring, umbilical, SCR systems by SIC and FPU contractor.
  • Review and input to SIC installation plans and procedures and ensure they are in compliance with the contract company specification, industry standards and approved detailed design requirements.
  • Review and comment on contractor transportation and installation plans and procedures to ensure they are in compliance with company specifications, industry standards and approved detailed design documents.
  • Participate in primary project interfaces during detailed design and installation with stakeholders including SIC contractor, FPU contractor, Subsea equipment vendor, certification/classification authority, MWS, operations, project management and government regulators.
  • Facilitate, participate with the operator's processes to advance the project to the next phase, including participation in peer assists, lessons learned, constructability reviews, etc
  • Occasional business trips to SIC facilities and construction vessel will be required prior to the installation campaign. Likewise with equipment vendors.
  • Participation in offshore activities will be required as the project moves from the yard to offshore installation, these duties will include:
oOversee the installation of SIC hull mounted installation aids in FPU hull yard.

oOversee the mooring system design and provide installation input to suction piles; off vessel mooring legs and on vessel mooring legs and FPU towing systems

oOversee the activities of SIC during the offshore transportation and pre installation of 12 point mooring systems at each FPU location onboard SIC construction vessels.

oOversee the installation of SIC contractor mooring/umbilical/SCR/pull-in equipment and installation aids on each FPU in the integration yard.

oOversee the recovery connection of on & off vessel mooring legs and final tensioning of each FPU at the design location.

Experience

  • Bachelor/ Master degree in Engineering (Naval Architecture, Ocean, Civil or Mechanical)
  • 12+ years of proven and specialist experience in detailed design, procurement, offshore installation and commissioning on deepwater subsea projects with knowledge in deepwater T&I of floating facilities
  • Experience planning and executing offshore installation activities for T&I of FPU and shall include contracting , vessel coordination, interface management, simultaneous operations, etc.
  • 5 years previous experience of holding a Lead Installation position in either an operator or contractor.
  • Experience with EPCI of chain-wire-chain suction pile mooring systems and towing systems on FPUs.
  • Experience in interfacing with FPU contractor and SIC for matters related to mooring system installation.
  • Experience with mooring system SCR, Riser and Umbilical pull in systems that will be temporarily installed on the FPU for mooring, SCR and umbilical installation.
  • Experience in interfacing with FPU contractor and SIC for matter related to various installation work.
  • Experience in defining and incorporating project process safety management, HSE requirements into final project process safety management, HSE requirements into final project specification for execution and post project operations.
  • Familiar with industry and regulatory code, standards and recommended practices from API,ASME, ABS, DNV etc. knowledge of suction piles, deepwater moorings, towing, welding and NDE standards.
  • Experience in managing contracts; monitoring and approving contractors plan, procedures and work output; knowledge of contract management procedures.
  • Knowledgeable of production operations and installation interfaces with operations. Works effectively with others and strives to reach agreements on key issues. Has high ability to achieve goals using influence and trust. Ability to work with operations field personnel is important
Willing to travel and positioned in the field within fabrication/construction
